I didn't need the filter this soon after purchasing the unit in January, but I wanted to activate the additional warranty and to join the filter subscription program. Unfortunately, there was no option to delay delivery for 9 months, so I guess I will know in 9 months, when it is due for a change, if I like the filter or not.

I was forced to purchase a factory filter because Blueair makes it difficult to figure out what the correct filter is for your machine. So rating to filter is useless really.
